Nicholas Restaurant Renovation

Portland Lebanese and mediterranean cuisine institution, Nicholas Restaurant, had outgrown their tiny original location on SE Grand Avenue. It had been their home for over thirty years and they were ready to expand to a larger and more welcoming space. After taking over the space vacated by a series of past restaurants in the historical Grange Building, the owner requested a a modern, middle-eastern design for her new location. One that would welcome her existing, loyal customers and new customers alike.

Utilizing middle-eastern motifs such as the custom metalwork pattern on the stair rail and back bar, modern arabesque tile, intimate booth design made to emulate the Lebanese arch and modern wall coverings and murals depicting the culture and beauty of Lebanon, we then bathed the entire interior with modern and traditional middle eastern lighting including a breathtaking two-story cluster of traditional middle-eastern lighting pendants in the main dining area.

This 4000 square foot, two story space now boasts a private dining area, outdoor patio, private booths, show-stopping bar and convivial main dining room lending a variety of modern and exotic dining experiences to customers old and new.
